Departures are exciting! Some people get nervous, others get giddy, but there’s no denying that something about airports and air travel always stirs up the juices. I was no exception. Here’s a look into the first leg of what’ll be a two-week adventure in the Dominican Republic. Make sure you have your passports and boarding passes on hand!
Not sure if any of you have been to JFK’s revamped Jet Blue terminal recently, but boy is it modern!
Check it out, a Best Buy vending machine with iPhone accessories and headphones and more. Where am I, Japan?
Muji To Go, yep, I’m definitely in Japan!
The patient airport crowds as they await their flights. Cellphones, newspapers, books. Tools of the traveling trade!
Spotted one of the world’s most famous Dominicans while at the terminal–in book form. Maybe you know this guy?
Boarding call. You know what that means!
Entering the dragon.
Grabbing seats.
Ah yes, the wonders of the window seat. Score!
Surreal.
Check out homie in the middle. Dude looked just like George Bush!
I’d only heard the legends of it–receiving free Brugal upon entering DR. Now lo and behold, for the legends were true!
And for my first meal on the island? Fried plantains and steak. You gotta love it!
Hello Santo Domingo!
Catch you on the next update,
