On Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Praxis Housing Initiatives, Inc. invites New Yorkers to enjoy “A Touch of May.” The evening of poetry will take place at the cozy Taza de Café at 450 West 155th Street & St. Nicholas Avenue. Local poet Marilyn Thomas Knight (MTK) will emcee the event.
Also featured will be poet and publisher of Nomad’s Choir Poetry Journal Joshua Meander and blues/soul artist and songwriter UnyQuee Ortiz.
Anyone interested in reading original poetry should arrive at 7:00 p.m. sharp for the limited open-mic sign-up. Limit is one poem per person. Performers and audience members are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited.
Admission is free. Light refreshments and coffee are available for purchase to benefit Praxis.
