The Young People’s Chorus of New York City at Washington Heights (YPCWH), one of the community choruses of the award winning Young People’s Chorus of New York City is inviting students to be part of their after-school choral singing program that fosters cross-cultural understanding, collaboration, and friendship through music. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from September to June and the chorus performs 4-5 times a year at venues throughout the city. YPC provides a close-knit community where children grow as musicians and learn about one another.
YPCWH will be holding auditions for 3rd to 8th graders next Thursday, January 9, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Fort Washington Collegiate Church – 729 West 181st Street (corner of Fort Washington Avenue and West 181st Street).
Sign up here: mailto:[email protected]. Audition times will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
The audition process is friendly, simple, and only takes approximately 5-minutes. Children sing a few basic music patterns and a song of their choice. It can be any song they feel comfortable singing, even something like “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” or “Happy Birthday.”
