La Tierra de Azteca is not alone.
Among the many relief efforts undertaken locally, Mexican-born artist Andrea Arroyo has created a series of prints to raise funds for victims of the earthquake in Mexico.
A Washington Heights resident, Arroyo and her husband Felipe Galindo, a fellow graphic artist known as “Feggo,” were inspired to make four images after hearing news of the devastating quake that struck Mexico City on September 19.
The 7.1-magnitude quake collapsed dozens of buildings and left at least 273 people dead, officials say. Hundreds of volunteers and rescue workers have taken to the streets to help with rescue efforts.
An image titled Solidarity, which depicts an angel embracing a heart-shaped globe, was specifically created to raise funds.
Arroyo said 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of the print will be donated to earthquake victims. Prints are $35, including shipping.
