The DREAM Project (Dominican Republic Education and Mentoring Project) hosted its 5th Annual NYC Benefit: Sueños 2016 on Thursday, November 10. Beginning with red carpet arrivals including honoree of the evening and Emmy winning actress, Dascha Polanco, star of the series Empire and Head Start Literacy Ambassador Taye Diggs, multi-talented artist and designer Shane Evans, Univision’s Katiria Soto, Roc Nation Latino artists and Mr. and Miss Dominican Republic U.S™ 2016, among others, set the tone for an evening of celebration set at the exclusive 40/40 Club in Manhattan.
In addition, DREAM honored their Corporate DREAMer of the Year, JetBlue Airways and DREAM Educator of the Year, author Ana Galan.
The DREAM Project provides more than 670,000 hours of quality education to more than 7,000 children through 14 different programs across 27 communities in the Dominican Republic. All proceeds from the event will go towards DREAM’s early childhood development, at-risk youth and workforce development programs.
