Don’t get it twisted I still have not forgiven SNL and NBC for humanizing and legitimizing a racist demagogue like Donald Trump a few months ago. But Lin-Manuel Miranda’s opening monologue on SNL was one of the best in recent memory. Not to mention that Lin gave Washington Heights a sweet shout out on national television.
“When I was just a kid growing up in Washington Heights, up in Manhattan, I dreamed of standing right here on this stage,” Miranda said.
