The 32nd Annual Festival Santiago Apostal de Loiza a El Barrio takes place this week from July 25th to the 27th. The festival will be a free three-day cultural celebration located at 105th Street, between Lexington and Park Avenues.
This year’s 32nd anniversary brings a diverse community together in celebration of a centuries’ old tradition steeped in African roots mixed with Spanish culture and Caribbean flavor. A project of Hermanos Fraternos de loiza Aldea in partnership with The Caribbean Cultural Center (CCCADI) and El Barrio-Taino Tower, the festival will follow the legendary tradition of dedicating each day to celebrating the contributions of men, women and children – highlighting and honoring outstanding leaders through the newly formed Loiza Award committee. Visitors can expect artisans, traditional live music, dancing, food, child-friendly activities, vendors, and more.
