50 Million Americans—1 in 4 children—don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, A Place at the Table shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides—as they have in the past—that ending hunger is in the best interests of us all.
The screening will be followed by a panel and Q&A with

The next film in our Projections series is THE FACES BEHIND THE DOLLS by Washington Heights author and filmmaker Mary Ely Peña-Gratereaux, screening on Saturday, March 22.
The previous films in our Projections series have been SHIFT CHANGE, about worker cooperatives, and cosponsored by the Washington Heights cooperative Ecomundo Cleaning (Jan. 25); ALL ME: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF WINFRED REMBERT, about African-American artist Winfred Rembert, in a documentary by Washington Heights filmmaker Vivian Ducat (Feb. 8); and BLING: A PLANET ROCK, tracing hip-hop’s obsession with the diamond industry all the way back to war-ravaged Sierra Leone, by Washington Heights/Inwood filmmaker Raquel Cepeda (Feb. 22).
