A Word From CHALK
CHALK is hosting a free Field Day on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 11a-3p at Highbridge Park’s baseball field in Washington Heights. We expect a large number of families and children from Northern Manhattan to attend this event. In addition to having a schedule of activities and games, we’ll be educating all participants on our 10 healthy habits. This family event has two objectives: to teach families about our 10 healthy habits which promote healthy lifestyles, and to provide a safe place for kids to be active by participating in field day games. Our goal is that each participant will sign a personal pledge to incorporate these healthy habits into their lives. We expect at least 300 kids, particularly from Northern Manhattan, to attend. Kids will use a ‘CHALK passport’ where they’ll receive a stamp after they learn about each of our ten healthy habits. Kids who complete all 10 stations will be eligible to enter a raffle for a grand prize.
