The Uptown Renaissance is broader than Broadway. It is not just art, it is not just music, and it is not just culture. This is a political, social, cultural and entrepreneurial revolution that is taking place Uptown. With that said, longtime Uptown Hip-Hop representative Dark, and the team behind him, is a perfect example of that. Not only is Dark on the verge of becoming a major artist but his team has also made quite a splash on the apparel front with shrewd marketing and really cool pieces that have been selling out quite quickly. Case in point: At the Release Party for the UPTNY sweater at Dyckman Bar that took place on Thursday, November 8th, their entire inventory of the sweaters sold out in a matter of minutes. That’s good news for them but ultimately it’s good news for Uptown. This is a prime example of taking your destiny into your own hands. Salute – Uptown Baby!
