The news broke yesterday, that earlier that day, 2 young men were gunned down on 151st Street and Broadway. The young men, both in their 20’s, fell victim to the senseless violence that has plagued our community for far too long. The killing of Kenny Jimenez and Francisco Mercedes, has left a gaping hole in the hearts of their family and friends. One of the young men, Francisco Mercedez, was an aspiring rapper known as Summa. While we did not know Summa well, he was a stand up person that was focused on his craft. We celebrate his life by dedicating our Monday Mood Music column to him.
