When classes start at Harvard University this fall, among the new men on campus will be one of Washington Heights’ own.
Christian McArthur, an area resident and high school senior who graduates in late June, was recently admitted to the prestigious university in Cambridge, MA.
An academic standout, McArthur also gained acceptance to two other Ivy League schools, Columbia University and Princeton University, as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
He credits his local public school education with helping foster his academic success.
McArthur, who is known as “Kit” to his family and friends, currently attends Columbia Secondary School (CSS) in Harlem, a newer public school for grades six through twelve that focuses on math, science and engineering.
