Join us for an exquisite night of glamour and allure as Uptown Fashion Week comes to the United Palace on Thursday, September 12 at 8pm. Doors open at 7:30pm.
The show, co-sponsored by the United Palace of Cultural Arts, will feature twelve established and emerging designers from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, France, England, and the Virgin Islands, as well as the United States while exploring and nurturing the talent and creative opportunities available in Northern Manhattan.
September’s show, the second of the year in Washington Heights after the standing room only spectacular at the Triangle Building in February, will be headlined by Project Runway star Michael Costello, who has dressed some of today’s biggest celebrities, such as Mary J. Bilge, Lindsay Lohan, and Michelle Williams.
Organized by a young Dominican entrepreneur, Albania Rosario, and co-hosted by NYC Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, NYS Senator Adriano Espaillat, and NYS Assembly Member Gabriela Rosa, Uptown Fashion Week bridges the downtown fashion industry and uptown community. The event also highlights and promotes awareness of issues around domestic violence, which has claimed the lives of countless women in Northern Manhattan.
Discounted tickets are on sale now online. Purchased online general admission tickets are $15 each ($20 at the door). VIP tickets, including seating next to the runway and a VIP-only reception at 6:30pm, are $75 ($100 at the door).
