Protests songs are not dead. Washington Heights resident, folk artist and freegan, GioSafari, is on the cusp of releasing his first full-length opus. Heliotropism, which drops on September 17th, is strongly influenced by the OWS movement with ample doses of spirituality and anti-consumerism for good measure. You already know the motto, “spread love it’s the Uptown way!”
