Alighting Records is pleased to announce its first release: Glass Breaks, a collection of solo drum works by Will Glass. While a DJ/Production tool by name and genre, it is also a highly listenable improvisational work from an innovative player who has collaborated with Dirty Projectors and Nat Baldwin, among many others.
Glass Breaks is being distributed digitally and on vinyl by Fat Beats. It was featured on WFMU’s Seven Second Delay last week.
To mark the occasion, we are pleased to host a straight up Hip Hop party at Word Up Books, the young-and-thriving community bookshop in Washington Heights. Glass will perform solo, as well as in tandem with turntablist DJ Ruffneck, and in support of the leading lights of upper Manhattan’s thriving Hip Hop community: Audubon, Dom P, and the 7-piece juggernaut The Machine.
