Astroturf in a bookshop? Well, this ain’t just any bookshop. Putt Up at Word Up is a mini-golf extravaganza, with local artists and kids designing each hole, and with all proceeds going toward covering operational expenses for Word Up. Come for the chance to play golf in a bookstore! Come to admire or participate in the artistic creation of mini-golf holes! Come for the cupcakes! Come to support Word Up! Come for the raffle– details below! It won’t be expensive– just $1 to golf and $2 (or 3/$5) for raffle tickets, so you can still pick up that book you’ve been flirting with buying. Music, commentary, and audience responses will be recorded and webcast live both days on Washington Heights Free Radio (www.WHFR.org)
