Much love and respect goes out to Juan Bago and his entire team for making the Bago Brunch the premiere networking event Uptown. The Uptown Renaissance is in full effect and it feels quite tangible and palpable at these functions. I cannot overstate how incredible it is to be in a room full of progressive people doing big things in this neighborhood and beyond. Personally, I got to meet hometown hero, Lin-Manuel Miranda and he gave the UC his stamp of approval, which means a whole lot. I also got to meet and build with a plethora of interesting folks from all walks of life who are working diligently to better this community. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Apt 78’s owner Jose Morales for his continued support of all things Uptown. Like I have said in the past, Jose’s various business ventures are the model for what a small business in our neighborhood should be; engaged with the larger community, progressive and willing to think beyond their bottom line. The winds of change are blowing through Uptown and man does it feel good. Spread love….you know the rest.
