The good folks at Palo have decided to bless the Uptown Collective Audience with tickets to the Dominican Independence Celebration at SOB’s featuring Mad Decent artist Maluca on Sunday, February 27th. On the wheels of steel that night will be none other than DJ Anuedy from La Mega 97.9. For those that don’t know, Palo is a Natural Vitality Tea that provides sustained energy and balance without caffeine. Palo is brewed from Mamajuana, a blend of healthy roots and herbs, which are traditionally prepared as tea and drank for vitality in the Dominican Republic and the surrounding Greater Antilles by the indigenous people.
Here’s the deal: List three (3) out of the sixteen (16) wild-crafted roots and herbs that go into Palo Mamajuana Tea (Hint: You can find them listed at www.drinkpalo.com) AND give us your FAVORITE reason for checking out the Uptown Collective on the comments section of this post for your chance to win! That’s it. It is that easy. The contest participants that provide the correct answers along with the best rationales for patronizing the UC will get to rock on Dominican Independence Day with Maluca. Winners will be announced and contacted by Feb 24th. Maluca spent some of her formative years in the Heights and is now putting down some serious, next-generation music. Part Merengue, Part Drum & Bass, Part Acid House; her music is a magnificent mélange of badassness. Remember to leave a working email and post your answers on the comments section of this post.

February 20, 2011 at 2:41 pmHello,
This herbal drink without caffeine has these 3 ingredients; clove, maca root and cinnamon. In the dominican tradition the Mamajuana has been a drink you will find in every home due to its cureness. I am enjoying the uptown collective website because its serves at the Zagat of restaurants in washington heights. I get myself updated with the new venues in my neighborhood.
