People’s Theatre Project kicks off Action Theatre/Teatro Acción, a performing ensemble of English and Spanish speaking actors and non-actors from the community. The group will meet regularly and use experiences from their own lives to rehearse and create an interactive theatrical performance to be presented at community venues throughout Northern Manhattan. The first session is presented as part of the Uptown Arts Stroll on Monday, June 21st from 6:00-7:30PM at the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood and is facilitated by Katy Rubin and the artistic director of People’s Theatre Project, Mino Lora.
Three summer sessions of Action Theatre/Teatro Acción will be held on Monday evenings from 6-7:30pm on June 21st, July 19th and August 23rd at the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood located at 54 Nagle Avenue.
