DJ Jillionaire

DJ Jillionaire, a.k.a. Christopher Leacock, performs 100 to 150 concerts a year around the world, so his upper Manhattan apartment is “a place for me to decompress,” he said. It’s also a place to show off his growing art collection. The works behind him are by the artist Samantha McCurdy. (Photo: Ike Edeani | NY Times)

Name Christopher Leacock, a.k.a. Jillionaire

Age 37

Occupation D.J., producer and member of Major Lazer

Location New York

Favorite Room The living room of his Washington Heights apartment, which contains much art but, surprisingly, no vinyl. “I have a lot of vinyl down in Trinidad,” Mr. Leacock said. “It’d be sick if I could find a way to bring it up. For right now, my girlfriend and I listen to MP3s.”

What drew you to this apartment and to living way uptown?I’d never been up to Washington Heights, but I saw the place. It was a nice, big apartment, gets a lot of light. It’s a Dominican-Jewish neighborhood, so it’s very diverse. In the summertime it’s great in the afternoon. There’s always someone playing music and activity outside. We pretty much leave the windows open 24-7.
