The Lego Creative Carnival at the Inwood Library (4790 Broadway) kicks off today at 4 pm. Step right up to this interactive event, where you’ll learn how to build popular rides and games out of LEGO® bricks! You’ll also learn to “power up” your creations with LEGO® Power Functions. While the Lego Creative Carnival is for ages 13 thru 18, there will also be a weekly Tween Time Lego program kicking off tomorrow for children ages 5 to 12.
Tuesday, February 23, 2016 – LEGO® Creative Carnival
Week 1: From Maze to Funhouse – Participants will share their experiences with mazes and fun-houses, design original mazes for a building challenge, solve mazes created by other students, and compare and contrast features of a maze and funhouse.
Tuesday, March 1, 2016 – LEGO® Creative Carnival
Week 2: Race Cars – Participants will learn about the features of fast cars, explore the concept of aerodynamics, and build race cars that are powered by rubber bands.
Tuesday, March 8, 2016 – LEGO® Creative Carnival
Week 3: Pinball Games – Participants will define the object of the game, design features of pinball games, and create their own original pinball games for a building challenge.
Tuesday, March 15, 2016 – LEGO® Creative Carnival
Week 4: Design a Ride- Participants will discuss and define features of thrill rides. Participants will also design and build their dream and/or favorite ride
