Uptown Poetry: Tales of a Dyckman Princess – 2 Minute Plead

Pay Phone - Washington Heights

(Photo: Briana E. Heard)

I am a walking contradiction;

I want flowers just because,

but I don’t want you calling me

every 2 minutes

I want walks in the park

picnics on the grass,

sex on the beach,

But don’t call me every 2 minutes please

I tire easy, bore quick

love hard, but run fast

Just don’t call me very 2 minutes

PLEASE!

Text me when you think of me

Say I love you when your heart skips a beat

Buy me an an outfit and surprise me for dinner

Call me at work and tell me you miss me

But not every 2 minutes

Please…
