It’s dope to be dapper at the Schomburg Center.
Fashion photos of famous Harlemites like Fab 5 Freddy, Al Sharpton and chef Marcus Samuelsson were on display at the Schomburg last week during a panel discussion on images of black men in modern media.
Striking pictures of well-known names sporting high-end fashions were juxtaposed against unknown men on the street who nonetheless displayed a singular sense of style.
“The conversation around black men in black communities has been so heavy lately,” said panel moderator and image activist Michaela angela Davis.
