Uptown Poetry: Introspection

God, I have come to the realization that as I sing your praises I also sing mine

God, you are the creator than I, your creation, must also be divine

If I was made by your hands, then I must be of the same mind

My soul is one with the universe, my body is a shrine

An edifice of flesh that responds to the demands of time

But my soul is eternal it remains celestially inclined

Like the sun, moon and stars that perpetually shine

The path to enlightenment is long, it is an uphill climb

Most never take that journey, they live their life blind

But I chose to look within and what did I find

God in its purest form, nothing short of divine

Introspection…
