40 Oz Bounce Gone Loko – The Recap

BY Led Black (@Led_Black)

The 40 Oz Bounce Gone Loko event, which took place on Saturday, September 11th underneath the looming presence of the GWB, was in one word, EPIC. Every 40 Oz Bounce function seems to be bigger than the last and this one had a decidedly Warriors kind of feel to it with 40 Oz Van and his cohorts playing the role of Cyrus, rounding up folks from all over the city and beyond for a little shindig. In total, there was easily a 1000+ people who answered the call to be a part of something historic. At one point, the cops showed up and a few of the revelers started running for no reason but the cops inexplicably let the party rock for a little bit longer. Even after the official event was over the crowds lingered on 181st Street for a long time afterwards. The 40 Oz crew once again created an experience that will be talked about for a long time to come. It is only fitting that I end this recap with the words of Cyrus “I say, the future is ours… if you can count! Can you dig it?”

40 Oz Bounce are these mega events/raves put together by 40 Oz Van and his crew. The crazy thing is that these events are put together using their vast social media network and word of mouth. Most of the folks at the last 2 functions that took place were not even from the immediate area, they came from all over NYC and beyond.
