BATTLE BREWING BETWEEN COLUMBIA U AND INWOOD RESIDENTS

The NY Times is reporting on the battle brewing in Inwood between residents and Columbia University regarding the university’s plans to add a 70-foot-high building to their Baker Field complex. Some Inwood residents are up in arms, claiming that the new structure will block their views, increase traffic as well as marring the neighborhood’s architectural aesthetic in the process. The new building is being designed by acclaimed architect Steven Holl. Our buddy, Jason Minter of Indian Road Café, was also quoted in the article.
